Observed.

About masculinity it has been taught that supposedly one should not feel, one should be strong, we should not cry, and yes we should repress, … all this and more, besides, questioning it does not come into play. Doubt these values ​​and “we will be less men”, but how could I be less of a man if I don’t even really know what it means to be?

Observing people, observing friends, observing strangers, observing people, observing masculinities; from how vulnerable, how fragile and how performative masculinity is, how easy it can be transformed and how comfortable it seems to be to follow the regulations, but exactly what protects it? It is said that fear, that is hard to break, because the belief might be that by doing so, you would be less of a man. Do you believe it?

With this project he observed different masculinities, in different people, some outside the regulations and others not so much, but masculinities in the end. Making them visible is my goal, what is done with these masculinities belongs to each person, what you do with yours, well, is another story.

Observar.

Sobre la masculinidad se ha enseñado que supuestamente no se debería sentir, se debería ser fuerte, no deberíamos llorar, y sí deberíamos reprimir, …todo esto y más, además, cuestionarlo no entra en juego. Dudar de estos valores y “seremos menos hombres”, pero ¿Cómo podría ser menos hombre si ni siquiera se realmente lo qué es serlo?

Observando personas, observando amigos, observando desconocidos, observando personas, observando masculinidades; desde lo vulnerable, lo frágil y lo perfomativa que es la masculinidad, lo fácil que se puede transformar y lo cómodo que parece ser seguir la normativa, pero exactamente ¿qué la protege?, se dice que el miedo, ese sí que cuesta romperlo, porque la creencia podría ser que al hacerlo, serías menos hombre. ¿Lo crees?

Con este proyecto observó a distintas masculinidades, en diversas personas, algunas fuera de la normativa y otras no tanto, pero masculinidades al final. Visibilizarlas es mi objetivo, lo que se haga con esas masculinidades es de cada persona, lo que hagas con la tuya, pues, es otra historia.
